An extraordinary appointment with the Palio di Siena: it will be held on October 20th to celebrate the centenary of the end of the First World War.
Normally the Palio di Siena is held twice a year: in July for the Palio of the Madonna di Provenzano and in August for the Palio of the Assumption, always in Piazza del Campo. An appointment that is renewed every year and of which traces are already found in the Middle Ages.
This year, an extraordinary Palio is organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
The regulated tests are scheduled for October 16th and 17th, the actual competition will be held the 20th at 17. Ten districts called contrade will participate: Torre, Lupa, Chiocciola, Goose, Dragon, Tartuca, Selva, Civetta , Nicchio, Giraffa.
